97% of the Scouts said the popcorn sale is fun.

Only 23% of Scouts who sell less than $1,000 set a goal. 

43% of Scouts who sell $1,000-$1,999 set a goal.

While Scouts like the prizes most about the sale, when asked why they sell popcorn 49% of Cubs and 53% of Boy Scouts said "to raise money" for their pack or troop.

Parents will offer the greatest support for the fundraiser with the greatest return for their son.

Parents like the popcorn sale because of the:

  1. Learning experience - 48%
  2. Product quality - 27%
  3. Funding Source - 21%

Parents ranked, in order of importance, the following benefits of the sale:

  1. Recognition for their son 
  2. Money for Camp and unit program
  3. Satisfies Scouting advancements
  4. Lesson for life learning
